As an Assistant Building Custodian, you will support the safe and efficient operation of essential defence facilities. Your hands‑on work will keep buildings, equipment and infrastructure at highest standards.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

  • Open and close buildings ensuring all areas are secure and operational.
  • Report and record building faults, maintenance needs and infrastructure issues.
  • Carry out regular fire safety checks, including alarms and extinguishers.
  • Control keys and manage access to internal and external training areas.
  • Support equipment checks, stock control and maintain accurate records and databases.

Essential Experience

  • Experience in stores, facilities support or similar operational environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar systems for maintaining records and databases.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence, Category B minimum.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance. Eligibility may be affected by nationality, citizenship, residency and other factors.
