The role
As a Head of Transport Operations, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for all aspects of the delivery of UK Aviation’s Motor Transport services across its contracts.
Day-to-day you\'ll take ownership as the UKA accountable Transport Manager, managing, auditing, and reviewing compliance systems in alignment with the Sector\'s approach. You\'ll also act as the primary point of contact for the Sector Assurance team, streamlining communication with Operational Transport Managers and their teams. You’ll also:
- Lead the Road Transport Assurance Manager in ensuring the compliance and responsibility of all MT Operations across the BU providing advice and oversight of any internal or external audits.
- Oversee the coordination of all UKA MT Operations, fostering knowledge sharing and promoting operational excellence.
- Drive cross-contract collaboration between LAFT and HADES, ensuring consistent systems and processes aligned with the Land Sector.
- Lead workforce planning for UKA MT Operations, including succession planning and establishing a talent development pathway for critical roles to enhance operational resilience.
Essential experience of the Head of Transport Operations:
- Experience in leading the delivery of multi-faceted contract across multiple sites.
- Proven success in building strong, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proven success in building strong relationships and improving customer satisfaction with senior customers, service users, regulators and key suppliers.
- Experience of, and success in, managing a P&L account and setting budgets.
- Demonstrable success in the preparation of contract management reports and sustaining performance.
