Lead operational teams, optimise resources and deliver critical production output for a major Defence programme. At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. If you join us, you can play your part as a Production Manager at our Donnington site, supporting the effective delivery of the Land sector’s operational output.

The role involves ensuring that production plans are delivered safely, efficiently and to target. You’ll manage operational resources, oversee allocation and prioritisation of work, and ensure spend is controlled against plan. This role is key to maintaining operational readiness and driving continuous improvement across the business.

Day-to-day, you’ll be:

  • Managing operational teams and supporting the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment to offboarding.
  • Allocating and prioritising resource to deliver production plans on time and within agreed constraints.
  • Monitoring and controlling spend against delivery requirements.
  • Making effective decisions based on available information and operational needs.
  • Driving performance, maintaining safe working practices and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.

This role is full time working 37 hours per week and is based at our Donnington site, with the option to work a 9-day fortnight.

Essential experience of the Production Manager:

  • Ability to lead and manage individuals and teams.
  • Comfortable challenging and holding difficult conversations when required.
  • Strong decision‑making skills using available data and judgement.
  • Experience managing allocated budgets.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively with limited resources.

Qualifications for the Production Manager:

  • Educated to Level 4 within the National Qualification Framework (HNC, Higher Apprenticeship, Level 4 NVQ or equivalent experience).

Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
