Mission Systems is a critical and fast-growing division within Babcock, delivering best-in-class technical solutions and services to support global defence and security operations. Our dynamic business supports a variety of activities in the UK and overseas. One key programme involves enhancing the UK MOD’s Skynet satellite network; this initiative, along with other high-impact communications and network projects, offers career opportunities for Systems Engineers ready to make an impact.

Your Role and Impact

  • Provide Systems Engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, with an understanding of the CADMID/T lifecycle model
  • Develop Engineering Management Plans and Systems Engineering artefacts for project delivery
  • Manage requirements from system to subsystem, including analysis and traceability
  • Manage system and subsystem architectures, creating and executing test and integration plans
  • Lead design reviews and communicate technical solutions to customers
  • Guide teams to meet critical milestones, applying best practices to manage risks and seize opportunities

These are full-time roles (37.5 hours per week) with flexibility to be based at various locations, including Plymouth, Bristol, Bath, Corsham, Bordon and Tewkesbury. What do I need?

  • Holistic Life Cycle Management with competencies across the Systems Engineering discipline
  • Expertise across the engineering life cycle V-Model or equivalent
  • Proficiency in IBM DOORS, EA Sparx and CAMEO; experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering
  • Ability to manage internal and external sub-contractors and lead small teams and projects
  • Experience in Requirements and Systems Architecture, ensuring scalable solutions
  • Familiarity with UK MOD practices and accreditation standards (beneficial)
  • Managing Stakeholder Requirements, Life Cycle Tailoring, Verification, Validation, and Transition to Operation
