The role
As a Supply Chain Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be part of an experienced team who support the UK Armed forces with spares, directly affecting material and vehicle availability and reliability. You will positively affect material availability in maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and authority stores systems.
Day-to-day, you’ll provide technical and obsolescence expertise to identify risk and opportunities to support the proposed contracting strategy, triage these risks and opportunities and escalate as appropriate to the Part Strategy Lead Engineer. You’ll also:
- Plan and undertake lead activities to optimise pre contract opportunities including creation and/or amendment of specifications and identification of suitable and specific technical questions
- Support supplier management and non-conformance
- Be responsible for technical compliance of all material put forward for procurement under the add to contract process
- Ensure drawings required for competition are requested, promoted to VAULT, and fit for use – adding supplementary information as required
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Catterick.
Essential experience of the Supply Chain Engineer:
- Advanced PC user (MS Office, MS Outlook, SharePoint, ERP system)
- Experience of working with data and reporting
- Ability to make sound, risk based decisions based on information available
Qualifications for the Supply Chain Engineer:
- Educated to Level 3 in National Qualification Framework (NQF) as a minimum (Intermediate apprenticeship, Level 3 NVQ) or equivalent workplace experience
- Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
