Role Description

As a Mechanical Technician, you’ll work on a wide variety of aircraft types, contributing to maintenance, storage, and disposal programmes that support operational capability and sustainability. The role involves manual work such as lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

  • Preparing fixed‑wing aircraft and helicopters for storage in line with engineering and safety standards
  • Carrying out in‑storage maintenance across a wide range of air platforms
  • Preparing aircraft for sale, reuse, or responsible disposal
  • Controlling quality assurance activities and supporting health and safety compliance
  • Working collaboratively with engineering, quality, and safety colleagues to ensure best practice

Essential Experience

  • Demonstrable experience working within an aviation engineering environment
  • Experience working on fast jet aircraft and/or helicopters
  • Experience maintaining or supporting multiple aircraft types
  • Proven background in quality assurance and health and safety practices

Qualifications

Formal aircraft engineering training with recognised trade certification.

Security Clearance

This role requires the successful candidate to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
