The Role
As a Ship Control Instructor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be responsible for delivering the Astute class ship control training in our specialised facility. Day-to-day, you’ll provide training to students with a wide range of experience. This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based at HMNB Clyde.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with the training design team to provide SME support
- Work with the training design team to implement any required change
- Support the review and evaluation of technical data / notifications of change
- Conduct all administration and reporting activities associated with training delivery
- Ensure training is delivered to prescribed standards, quality and costs
Experience Required
- Comprehensive knowledge of operating ship control systems
- Experience of submarine control room management
- Relevant experience in the Royal Navy submarine service
- Previous experience of training delivery desirable but not essential
- Recent experience on the Astute class submarines desirable but not essential
Qualifications
- Warrant officer or other senior rating within the Royal Navy
- DTC / DTTT qualification advantageous
