The role:

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering accurate, high-quality financial reporting and strengthening financial controls across a complex, global organisation. Working within our Central Accounting Team, you’ll take ownership of fixed asset and lease accounting, helping to support business-critical investment decisions while ensuring compliance and consistency across the Group. This is an opportunity to be part of a transforming finance function where your expertise will directly influence how we manage high-value assets, from aircraft fleets to major infrastructure investments. Day-to-day, you’ll gain exposure across the business, working with stakeholders at all levels while developing your career in a purpose-driven organisation at the heart of defence, aerospace and engineering.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing fixed asset and lease accounting in line with regulatory standards including IFRS 16
  • Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and financial reports
  • Supporting month-end and year-end close activities across multiple entities
  • Collaborating with finance teams, auditors, and business stakeholders to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Driving improvements and standardisation across accounting processes and controls

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days onsite and days working from home.

Essential Experience:

  • Demonstrating strong experience in IFRS 16 within a complex organisation
  • Managing balance sheets, reconciliations and financial reporting activities
  • Working across multi-entity or international environments
  • Using advanced Excel and finance systems such as SAP, Navision or IFS
  • Applying an audit mindset or having previous audit experience (advantageous)

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant (such as ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
