The role

As a Security Manager, you will support the Principal Security Specialist (PSS) in providing security for Babcock staff, contractors, and country-based staff when deployed. This includes implementing appropriate security measures at your main site and other locations as assigned.

You will demonstrate professionalism and deliver high-quality service, working flexibly to support others, cover absences, and respond to emergencies, including security calls during evenings and weekends abroad.

  • Support the PSS in reporting security breaches, notify the Contract Manager promptly, and ensure timely incident reporting and escalation.
  • Deploy and work in any location where Babcock staff are contracted to operate or as directed by PSS.
  • Manage security-related tasks such as incident response, access control, contractor coordination, and event support, maintaining accurate records.
  • Deliver pre-deployment and arrival security briefings (in person or via Teams), track attendance, and ensure staff complete required training.
  • Build local networks abroad to gather security updates, crime reports, and project-related information to keep staff informed.

This full-time role offers 37 hours per week with hybrid working arrangements and overseas deployment options.

Essential experience

  • Managing security programmes/projects in high-threat locations
  • Experience with senior-level visits and event management
  • Resilience and ability to work under pressure, including emergency situations
  • Excellent reporting and emergency response planning skills
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols and procedures

Qualifications

  • Valid UK driver’s license and ability to drive
  • In-date FPOS-I or FREC 3 trauma medic qualification
  • Membership of the Security Industry Authority (SIA) with a valid Close Protection (CP) license
  • Level 3 commercial CP qualification

Security Clearance

Ability to obtain and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) clearance. Many roles require national security clearance, which may be affected by nationality, citizenship, or residency. Further details are available on our website.
