The role involves leading a specialist team responsible for the safe, compliant, and effective maintenance of survival and aircrew equipment. Your leadership will directly impact safety performance, regulatory compliance, and overall operational effectiveness.
- Leading and supervising a team delivering survival and aircrew equipment maintenance
- Ensuring all activities meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards
- Overseeing inspection, testing, and certification of equipment
- Driving team performance, compliance, and continuous improvement
- Coordinating work to ensure outputs are delivered safely and on time
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role. This role is full-time, 40 hours per week, based on site at MOD Boscombe Down, Wiltshire.
Essential Experience- Proven experience in survival or life support equipment maintenance
- Experience leading or supervising within a technical or engineering environment
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical capability
- High level of personal responsibility, flexibility, and accountability
- Knowledge of military engineering standards, procedures, or equivalent
- Formal engineering training (RAF Trade Group 13 or equivalent)
- Trade authorisations such as QSEAC or AVMEDSE
- Additional technical qualifications in aircrew equipment or specialist systems (desirable)
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
