Responsibilities

  • Lead the deployment and utilisation of pipe and mechanical resources across programmes to meet current and future demand.
  • Act as the site Subject Matter Expert for mechanical and pipe trades, maintaining capability, standards and compliance.
  • Develop and own the trade competency framework in collaboration with learning, safety and engineering teams.
  • Support early careers planning by identifying future apprentice and trainee requirements aligned to business strategy.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to drive workforce planning, performance and continuous improvement.

This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at Rosyth.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience leading and managing teams within an engineering or industrial environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical or pipe trades and their interaction with engineering, quality and safety functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in senior leadership environments, influencing and communicating with confidence.
  • Excellent people management, problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Highly developed organisation and prioritisation capabilities in complex operational settings.

Qualifications

  • Time served in a relevant mechanical or pipe trade, with extensive experience in an engineering or production environment.
  • Leadership, management or assessor qualifications would be an advantage.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
