The role

As a Fabricator, you will play a central role in outfitting and constructing ship interiors, working across a wide variety of structural and outfitting tasks that directly support the build of our Type 31 warships. Your work will help ensure each vessel meets the highest standards of safety, quality and reliability while giving you hands‑on experience in one of the most exciting engineering environments in the UK.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities

  • Carry out cutting, grinding and drilling tasks to prepare and shape components.
  • Use burning equipment safely and effectively as part of the fabrication process.
  • Install and fit out ship interiors including cupboards, benches, furniture and seating.
  • Support fabrication tasks across the Type 31 production environment.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to meet project milestones and quality standards.

This is a full‑time position working 36 hours per week, based on site at Rosyth.

Essential experience of the Fabricator

  • Light or heavy fabrication experience.
  • Grinding, cutting and drilling experience.
  • Burning experience.
  • Shipbuilding experience preferred but other industries will be considered.

Qualifications for the Fabricator

  • SVQ / NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication (or equivalent).

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
