The role

As a Receptionist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. A fantastic opportunity for a receptionist to join a leading defence technology company, supporting a growing portfolio of high-integrity maritime, weapons, communications, and intelligence projects.

Day-to-day, you’ll work within a small, highly effective team where the highest standards are expected—both technically and behaviourally. Additionally, you will:

  • Schedule appointments and meetings; manage meeting room bookings
  • Greet and welcome visitors, register them, issue passes, and direct them to the appropriate person or team
  • Manage security, including arranging visitor escorts and verifying security clearances as required
  • Handle phone communications, including responding to queries, redirecting calls, and taking messages accurately
  • Manage correspondence, including incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Skelton, Penrith.

Essential experience of the Receptionist

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong organisational abilities
  • A proven track record in a customer service environment.
  • A friendly and professional demeanour
  • Confident user of Microsoft packages
  • Must have own transport due to location of site.

Qualifications for the Receptionist

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant subject is preferred but not essential

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.
