The role

As a Mission Systems Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll contribute to the development of advanced ship designs by integrating Combat, Communications, Navigation Systems, and onboard networks into naval platforms. Your work will shape mission-critical systems that protect national security and deliver cutting-edge capability to our customers — all while advancing your own career in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

  • Support engagement with customers to develop and agree clear system requirements.
  • Generate and assess sensor and weapon suite options for concept designs.
  • Take ownership of compartments or systems through all design stages.
  • Specify, select, and manage external suppliers for components and services.
  • Contribute to Combat Systems and Mission Systems engineering activities across projects.

This role is full time and is a hybrid role with 2 days onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Mission Systems Engineer:

  • Previous experience integrating Combat, Communications, Navigation, or Network systems into marine platforms.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-discipline team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications for the Mission Systems Engineer:

  • Ideally degree-qualified in an engineering discipline (HND/HNC with extensive experience considered).
  • Membership of a relevant institution and a clear route to chartership.
  • Eligible to work with controlled goods, technology, or services (including ITAR compliance).

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
