Overview

At Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as an Electrical Engineering Technician at our Devonport Royal Dockyard site.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain electrical and electronic systems and equipment aboard vessels during deep maintenance periods.
  • Conduct maintenance on dedicated electrical, weapons, communications and electronic systems.
  • Report on system equipment and condition to maintain stakeholder awareness for future operation.
  • Rectify defects of equipment.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week, and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential Experience

  • Qualified electrical or electronic engineer with good engineering standards.
  • Ability to complete all physical requirements of the job, including regular work aboard ships.
  • IT skills and ability to generate defect reports and populate information into a maintenance management system.
  • Adaptable and demonstrate flexibility to work across a variety of different tasks; may include general marine maintenance tasks.
  • Proactive attitude.
  • Good communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 NVQ or BTEC, or equivalent qualification in an electrical/electronic engineering specialisation.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
