The role involves ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the equipment that underpins our engineering and maintenance operations. Working as part of a dedicated calibration team, you’ll help manage the flow, status and quality of instruments critical to supporting defence programmes and essential national infrastructure. Day‑to‑day, you’ll build strong relationships with internal teams and customers, solve problems, and help continually improve how calibration services are delivered. You’ll gain valuable experience in technical assurance, logistics coordination and customer support, building a solid platform for long‑term career progression within engineering, quality or technical support functions.
- Managing the receipt, dispatch and logistics of instruments, including arranging collections and deliveries.
- Assisting customers with enquiries and technical questions, reviewing specifications to ensure accurate support.
- Updating and maintaining the equipment database with timely, accurate information.
- Conducting routine onsite audits to ensure correct status control and compliance with quality standards.
- Supporting the mechanical calibration team and helping to maintain smooth coordination between customers and laboratory operations.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Qualifications For The Calibration Support Engineer
- Level 3 qualification and relevant engineering experience.
- Ideally, completion of a recognised apprenticeship in an associated discipline.
