The role is a fast-paced, learner-focused position supporting learners across key sites in North Yorkshire and the North East, including Catterick Garrison, Newcastle upon Tyne, York, Ripon and Thirsk. You will act as a rapid response resource to maintain learner progression, engagement, and achievement, especially during staff absence or when additional support is needed across the programme.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a flexible resource to ensure continuity of delivery during periods of absence or increased demand.
  • Provide surge support to drive learner progression and completions.
  • Support, motivate and coach learners who are off track through their apprenticeship programme, ensuring all components are completed while meeting awarding organisation, ESFA and Ofsted requirements.
  • Schedule and attend learner progress reviews for learners with no allocated coach or requiring additional targeted support, and complete all required documentation.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality learner workshops to support progression.

This role is full time (37 hours per week). It is fully remote and requires delivery of support across sites in North Yorkshire and the North East, including but not limited to Catterick, Newcastle upon Tyne, York, Ripon and Thirsk.

Essential experience

  • Considerable experience as a qualified assessor
  • Considerable experience in an appropriate industry environment
  • Good understanding of work-based learning programmes

Qualifications

  • Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (or equivalent)
  • Maths and English – GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Vehicle Mechanic Level 3 Qualification – minimum level 3

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (EDBS) security clearance for this role. Some positions require national security clearance and Trade Control compliance; eligibility may be affected by place of birth, nationality, citizenship, or residency. More details at GOV.UK.
