The role

As a Maintenance Electrical Fitter, you’ll be at the heart of our operations—ensuring the reliability and performance of critical infrastructure that supports national defence and marine engineering. This is a hands-on role where your expertise will directly contribute to the success of our shipbuilding programmes and the safety of our operations.

Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

  • Maintaining mobile, overhead, and Goliath cranes across the site.
  • Inspecting and testing building electrical systems to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults in control circuits with minimal supervision.
  • Executing planned and corrective electrical maintenance on buildings, plant, and equipment.
  • Installing and repairing electrical circuitry and minor works across the site.

You\’ll be based onsite at Rosyth, working 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Set working times are standard daytime hours. This full-time, permanent position offers a dynamic working environment where your skills will grow alongside some of the most advanced engineering projects in the UK.

Essential experience

  • Proven ability to work independently and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with electrical maintenance in industrial or marine settings.
  • Strong understanding of control circuits and fault-finding techniques.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.

Qualifications

  • An ONC in Electrical Plant Engineering (preferably an HNC).

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role. Many positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
