The role
As an Engineering Officer Trainer, you'll help shape the future of Defence by delivering high-quality engineering education and training to military personnel. This is a unique opportunity to combine your engineering expertise with your passion for learning and development, equipping future Defence engineers with the technical knowledge, problem-solving ability and professional skills needed to support critical military operations.
Day-to-day you'll be required to:
- Deliver engineering studies lessons, technical training and academic instruction to military trainees.
- Develop training materials, lesson plans and blended learning resources to support effective learning.
- Assess and mark engineering projects, reports, presentations and assignments.
- Provide feedback, coaching and guidance to help learners achieve their full potential.
- Support continuous improvement activities, quality assurance processes and training programme development.
The role is based onsite at MOD Lyneham, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.
Essential experience of the Engineering Officer Trainer:
- Appropriate and relevant engineering knowledge and industry experience.
- Appropriate academic knowledge and experience within an engineering environment.
- Experience supporting learning, training, mentoring or development activities.
- Knowledge of engineering principles across mechanical, electronic, aviation or related disciplines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications for the Engineering Officer Trainer:
- Chartered Engineer status, or currently working towards Chartered Engineer status.
- Degree in an engineering discipline such as Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Aviation Engineering.
- Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
