Role Overview
As an Indirect Tax Analyst, you’ll play a key role in ensuring Babcock meets its indirect tax and compliance obligations across a complex, global organisation. Supporting the Indirect Tax Manager and Head of Indirect Tax, you’ll help drive accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement in tax processes that underpin vital defence, aerospace, and engineering programmes. Day-to-day, you’ll gain exposure to a wide range of tax matters while working collaboratively across finance, procurement, and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and reviewing value added tax, construction industry scheme, and PAYE settlement agreement returns
- Ensuring all tax returns are completed and submitted accurately and on time across the business
- Supporting the development and standardisation of tax processes, procedures, and documentation
- Building relationships across the organisation to embed strong tax compliance and awareness
- Identifying and implementing improvements to systems, controls, and tax reporting processes
Essential Experience
- Experience within an indirect tax or tax compliance role
- Knowledge of cross‑border indirect tax rules for goods and services
- Understanding of core financial and accounting principles
- Analytical skills to interpret tax regulations and provide clear insights
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems in a fast‑paced environment
Qualifications
- Holder or working towards a relevant professional qualification – ACA, ACCA, CTA, AAT
Security Clearance
Must achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) clearance. Eligibility may be affected by place of birth, nationality, citizenship, and residency as per UK Security Vetting requirements.
