The role
As a Site Health and Safety Practitioner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of our mission to protect people and operations across our Marine sector. This is a dynamic opportunity to make a real impact - ensuring compliance, driving continuous improvement, and shaping a culture of safety across one of the UK’s most strategic defence sites.
Day-to-day you’ll be:
- Delivering professional health and safety advice across the site and supply chain
- Conducting workplace inspections to identify hazards and reduce risks
- Participating in audits and managing corrective actions
- Investigating incidents to identify root causes and implement improvements
- Representing the department in meetings and sharing best practices
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at HMNB Clyde Faslane.
Essential experience of the Site Health and Safety Practitioner
- Demonstrated knowledge of statutory, regulatory, and standards compliance
- Experience in auditing and engaging with regulators
- Skilled in accident and emergency response
- Proven ability to lead incident investigations and safety interventions
- Previous experience in a similar industrial, shipbuilding, or engineering environment
Qualifications for the Site Health and Safety Practitioner
- NEBOSH Certificate (essential)
- Working towards a Health and Safety Degree or NEBOSH Diploma (advantageous)
- Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
