The role
As a Project Manager, you will take ownership of delivering a portfolio of high-value, complex infrastructure projects within a major defence environment. From early business case through to final handover, you will guide projects across their entire lifecycle—making a tangible difference to operational capability and national resilience. Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Deliver infrastructure projects in line with recognised project lifecycle standards, from concept through to completion
- Manage multidisciplinary design teams, contractors, and external stakeholders
- Coordinate the development of project briefs, technical designs, and tender processes
- Oversee contractor performance during delivery to ensure time, cost, and quality targets are met
- Lead project governance, risk management, and handover processes
This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday and provides hybrid working arrangements with an initial expectation of three to four days on site per week.
Essential experience:
- Managing construction or engineering infrastructure projects in a complex environment
- Applying standard contracts such as NEC4 or JCT
- Leading design teams across project lifecycle stages (e.g. RIBA Plan of Work)
- Working with project management tools and methodologies such as Primavera or Microsoft Project
- Controlling project budgets and delivering against financial targets
Qualifications:
- Minimum HNC in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline (civil, electrical, mechanical, or project management)
- Working towards or holding professional membership such as RICS, CIOB, or similar
- A Project Management qualification such as APM is desirable
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
