The Role
As an Electronics Engineer you will have the opportunity to maintain, support and innovate equipment, whilst enhancing your engineering knowledge, contributing to the Skynet programme. Day-to-day, you’ll report to the Remote Terminals Maintenance Manager, establishing and managing an internal equipment triage capability that improves equipment availability across Skynet.
- Manage workshop facilities ensuring the safe and efficient running of all repair resources and the quality of work produced adhering to health and safety policies and regulatory compliances.
- Diagnose and confirm faults on equipment that has been returned from the user to ascertain the status using test specification documentation and record results.
- Lead and coordinate internal repairs within the Engineering Operations team for Skynet.
- Manage internal equipment repairs in accordance with test specifications in consultation with the Repairs Manager and the In‑Service Support Manager and other departments within Babcock.
- Look for opportunities to increase the scope and portfolio of the Triage & Repair facility in line with the Supportability strategy.
- Conduct Triage & Repair (T&R) activities with aspects of test, repair and inspection of assured Skynet equipment where skills and knowledge allow on behalf of Team Aurora.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Oakhanger, Hampshire.
Essential Experience of the Electronics Engineer
- Experience of leading a team and being a subject matter expert sharing knowledge and expertise.
- In‑Service Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment.
- Windows PC Literate.
- Competent with MS Office Pro (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
