Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist advice on sustainability and environmental legislative and contractual compliance for the project.
  • Manage the project’s Environmental Management Plan, Emergency Response Plan, Environmental Risk Profile and Aspects and Impact register.
  • Develop within the environmental management platform a project specific Environment and Sustainability Threats and Opportunities profile.
  • Implementing and continuous improvement of the Babcock Rail compliance management system to the ISO 14001 standard for the site.

Day-to-day, you will implement the environmental elements of the Babcock Rail compliance management system, including environmental policies, risk assessments, procedures and guidance notes, and communicate these to internal and external parties. The role focuses on delivering the operational aspects of the Sustainability Strategy at the Workplace, Marketplace and Community levels. This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Cadder Yard, Glasgow. Travel to different sites is required.

Essential Experience

  • Knowledge and experience as an Ecologist.
  • Willingness to travel and hold a full UK driving license.

Qualifications

  • Environmental or Ecology Qualification required.
