The role
As a Document Controller, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will ensure compliance with controlled processes, policies and procedures relating to the creation, review, modification, issuance, distribution, destruction and accessibility of documents.
Day-to-day, you’ll register and capture documents in the Document Management System (DMS) – including those from Babcock, clients, and relevant sub-contractors. Additionally, you will:
- Manage the Document Control shared Inbox
- Oversee document revision processes and retention
- Allocate document numbering systems for Babcock and clients
- File and retain documents – both physical copies (if required) and digital originals
- Review document formats and ensure adherence to checking and approval processes, including signatures
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Document Controller
- Extensive, recent, and relevant experience in a similar environment or business sector
- Advanced knowledge of document management systems and procedures
- Experience across the full project lifecycle, from bid phase through to closeout
- High level of proficiency in using IT software packages
- Demonstrable experience in a document control environment is essential
Qualifications for the Document Controller
- Relevant qualifications in Document Management/Control are preferred but not essential
