What will you do on the programme?

As a Data Analytics graduate, you won’t just be working with data – you’ll be influencing how we operate and support critical national infrastructure. Your work will help optimise operations, reduce risk, and enhance the performance of vital assets across defence, nuclear, and emergency services.

You’ll explore the full data lifecycle – from sourcing and cleaning datasets to uncovering patterns and presenting insights through clear, compelling visuals. This involves building reports in Power BI, conducting statistical analysis, or creating dashboards that highlight what’s working and where we can improve.

You’ll gain in-depth knowledge of our enterprise systems and contribute to projects that improve how we capture, manage, and use data. Some placements may also involve developing customer-facing applications and data solutions in Palantir Foundry to support smarter, faster decision-making.

With support from mentors and collaboration with experienced colleagues, you’ll quickly build confidence – learning to communicate insights, challenge assumptions, and contribute fresh ideas. You’ll help shape strategy, drive innovation, and improve the way teams work.

Programme structure

This two-year programme is built around a series of rotational placements, each lasting between three and six months. These rotations are designed to give you practical experience across a variety of teams, tools, and challenges – helping you discover where your strengths and interests lie.

By the end of the programme, you’ll have a strong foundation in data analytics, and a clear sense of how your work can drive impact across a complex, data-driven organisation.

Development and support

From day one, you’ll receive structured support, personalised training, and dedicated mentorship to help you excel throughout your programme and beyond.

You’ll join our Graduate Development Programme, featuring expert-led masterclasses on communication, personal branding, resilience, and wellbeing.

Alongside this, you’ll have access to online learning resources such as DataCamp and O’Reilly, plus a dedicated mentor to guide your development and support you in working towards professional chartership with bodies like the British Computer Society or the Institute of Mathematics for Data Science, with funding and time provided to help you meet the requirements.

You’ll develop key skills in data visualisation, cloud platforms, agile ways of working, and ethical AI. Depending on your placement, you may also explore areas like Business Analysis, Project Management, and Software Testing. There could also be opportunities to boost your learning with courses like SQL, Python, or Palantir Foundry.

Rewards and benefits

We want you to feel supported, valued and excited about what’s ahead. That’s why we offer a comprehensive package designed to support your development, your wellbeing and your life outside of work too.

In addition to a minimum starting salary of £35,000, you’ll benefit from:

  • A minimum of 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, with agile working options subject to discussion with your manager
  • Generous pension and employee share schemes
  • Flexible benefits, including cycle to work scheme, discounts
  • Wellbeing support, covering mental, physical, financial, and social wellbeing, with services like our Employee Assistance Programme, digital GP service, and health checks.

You’ll also have the chance to get involved in our STEM outreach activities and volunteering opportunities.
