What will you do on the programme?

As a Data Analytics graduate, you’ll influence how we operate and support critical national infrastructure. Your work will help optimise operations, reduce risk, and enhance the performance of vital assets across defence, nuclear, and emergency services.

You’ll explore the full data lifecycle – from sourcing and cleaning datasets to uncovering patterns and presenting insights through clear, compelling visuals. This includes building reports in Power BI, conducting statistical analysis, or creating dashboards that highlight what’s working and where we can improve.

You’ll gain knowledge of our enterprise systems and contribute to projects that improve how we capture, manage, and use data. Some placements may involve developing customer-facing applications and data solutions in Palantir Foundry to support smarter, faster decision‑making.

With support from mentors and collaboration with experienced colleagues, you’ll quickly build confidence – learning to communicate insights, challenge assumptions, and contribute fresh ideas. You’ll help shape strategy, drive innovation, and improve how teams work.

How is the programme structured?

This two-year programme is built around a series of rotational placements, each lasting between three and six months. These rotations give you practical experience across a variety of teams, tools, and challenges, helping you discover where your strengths and interests lie. By the end, you’ll have a strong foundation in data analytics and a clear sense of how your work can drive impact across a complex, data-driven organisation.

How do we develop and support you?

From day one, you’ll receive structured support, personalised training, and dedicated mentorship to help you excel. You’ll join our Graduate Development Programme, featuring expert-led masterclasses on communication, personal branding, resilience, and wellbeing.

You’ll have access to online learning resources such as DataCamp and O’Reilly, plus a dedicated mentor to guide your development and support you in working towards professional chartership with bodies like the British Computer Society or the Institute of Mathematics for Data Science, with funding and time provided to help you meet the requirements.

You’ll develop key skills in data visualisation, cloud platforms, agile ways of working, and ethical AI. Depending on your placement, you may also explore areas like Business Analysis, Project Management, and Software Testing. There could also be opportunities to boost your learning with courses like Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt.

What rewards and benefits will you get?

We want you to feel supported, valued and excited about what’s ahead. In addition to a minimum starting salary of £35,000, you’ll benefit from a comprehensive package designed to support your development, wellbeing and life outside of work:

  • A minimum of 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, with agile working options subject to discussion with your manager
  • Generous pension and employee share schemes
  • Flexible benefits, including cycle to work scheme, discounts
  • Wellbeing support, covering mental, physical, financial, and social wellbeing, with services like our Employee Assistance Programme, digital GP service, and health checks

You’ll also have the chance to get involved in our STEM outreach activities and volunteering opportunities.

What do you need to apply?

  • A (Hons) degree in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Operational Research and/or Computer Science.
  • Many of our graduate programmes are subject to Security Clearance and Trade Control restrictions which may impact eligibility. For this programme, you must be able to achieve BPSS, Security Check (SC) and Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) clearance.
