Help protect lives through specialist aviation safety equipment. As a Survival Equipment Technician at Royal Air Force Cranwell, you will support critical aviation operations through the maintenance and assurance of life‑saving equipment.

The role

  • Carry out scheduled maintenance and repairs to any/all RAF Survival Equipment and Aircrew Equipment Assemblies to meet or exceed customer expectations and HADES contractual needs.
  • Schedule maintenance of Survival Equipment and Aircrew Equipment Assemblies, including:
    • Periodic, after use and corrective maintenance of wet/dry drill equipment.
    • Maintenance documentation and records in compliance with regulations.
    • Calibration and recording of torque tools as required.
    • MOD form 760 and 765 raised and submitted as necessary.

This is a full‑time, onsite role, working 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Essential experience

  • Experience of parachute maintenance and packing.
  • Experience of life raft maintenance and packing.

Qualifications

  • RAF Survival Equipment Course or civilian equivalent.
  • Q-SE-AC or Q-AV-MED.
  • RAF Flying Clothing Maintenance and Fitting.

Security clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance. Many positions are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions; eligibility may be affected by birth, nationality, citizenship, and residency.
