The role:
- Provide expert commercial and governance support to the delivery of NEC contracts within a major nuclear infrastructure programme.
- Ensure contracts are administered robustly, commercial risk is controlled, and supplier performance remains aligned to programme objectives.
This is an opportunity to work at the heart of one of the UK’s largest and most complex clean energy projects, where your expertise will directly support safe delivery, cost certainty, and long‑term value. The experience you gain here will strengthen your commercial leadership capability and position you strongly for progression within major infrastructure and nuclear programmes.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Administering NEC3 contracts from award through delivery to close‑out, ensuring full contractual compliance.
- Managing compensation events, including assessment, negotiation and agreement of quotations.
- Developing and maintaining cost baselines and supporting the evaluation of supplier submissions.
- Undertaking detailed cost analysis, reviewing assumptions, quantities, rates and scope alignment.
- Supporting proactive commercial risk management, dispute avoidance and supplier performance assurance.
The role is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and based at Aztec West Business Park, Almondsbury. Hybrid working patterns are available, balancing flexibility with collaboration.
Essential experience:
- Strong contract and commercial management experience within major infrastructure, engineering or nuclear environments.
- Demonstrated experience administering NEC contracts, including compensation events.
- Proven quantity surveying capability, including valuation, cost control and change management.
- Experience developing cost forecasts, baselines and managing commitments.
- Confident stakeholder engagement and commercial negotiation skills.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Membership of RICS or an equivalent professional body (desirable).
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
