Overview
Lead commercial strategy on nationally significant nuclear defence programmes. As a Commercial Manager at Cavendish Nuclear, you will provide end‑to‑end commercial leadership across contracts and projects within our Nuclear Defence Support programme. Working closely with project teams, clients and suppliers, you shape commercial strategy, manage risk and ensure strong governance throughout the contract lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Provide commercial leadership and guidance across complex contracts, projects and bids.
- Develop and drive risk‑based commercial strategies in collaboration with project teams.
- Manage commercial governance, compliance and performance on large‑scale contracts.
- Build and sustain strong commercial relationships with customers and supply chain partners.
- Act as the escalation point for high‑risk or complex commercial issues.
Essential Experience
- Extensive commercial management experience within complex engineering or infrastructure environments.
- Strong track record delivering commercial strategy on large, high‑value contracts and bids.
- Proven experience working with NEC contracts, particularly NEC3.
- Demonstrated ability to manage commercial risk, change and governance effectively.
- Experience influencing stakeholders and negotiating successfully at senior levels.
Qualifications
- Degree qualifying in Quantity Surveying, Building Services Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS or World Commerce and Contracting is desirable.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain a Security Check (SC) Security clearance for this role.
