Compensation: £37,313 – £40,000 dependent on experience + benefits.
Role Type: Full time / Fixed Term Contract 12 months.
Overview: Help shape the next generation of Army recovery mechanics by delivering coaching, training and assessment for apprentices at Babcock’s recovery and mechanics programme.
Day to day responsibilities:
- Visit apprentices in their workplace to deliver practical coaching on recovery and mechanical tasks.
- Support learners to build skills in fault diagnosis, repair and vehicle recovery operations.
- Assess performance and record progress against apprenticeship standards.
- Provide clear feedback, guidance and ongoing support to help learners succeed.
- Work with Army units and training teams to ensure quality, compliance and development outcomes.
Essential Experience:
- Demonstrated mechanical or vehicle maintenance experience such as recovery, heavy vehicles or plant.
- Experience in operational or technical environments, ideally within a military setting.
- Strong organisational skills to manage workload across multiple locations.
- Effective communication skills to coach and support learners of varying abilities.
- Apply practical knowledge to real‑world engineering challenges.
Qualifications:
- GCSEs in Maths and English Grade C or above, or equivalent.
- Relevant Level 3 qualification in vehicle mechanics or a related discipline.
Security Clearance: The successful candidate must achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (EDBS) security clearance.
