The role:
- As a Senior Supply Chain Development Manager, you’ll operate at the forefront of business growth, shaping supply chain strategies that directly influence bid success and programme delivery.
- Working across complex defence opportunities, you’ll design innovative supply chain solutions that strengthen proposals, enhance competitiveness and enable future capability.
- Day-to-day, you’ll have a unique opportunity to move beyond traditional supply chain delivery and play a key role in business winning.
- You will work closely with bid teams, senior stakeholders and suppliers to develop strategic approaches that position Babcock for long-term success in defence, engineering and infrastructure programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing supply chain strategies that support bids, tenders and long-term business opportunities.
- Supporting the creation of high-quality proposals, including supplier engagement and customer-facing content.
- Identifying and designing supply chain solutions, including partnerships, alliances and delivery models.
- Analysing market and competitor capability to strengthen supply chain approaches and outcomes.
- Building relationships across internal teams and suppliers to enable integrated and effective delivery.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential Experience:
- Extensive experience in supply chain management, procurement and strategic sourcing.
- Strong commercial expertise including contract negotiation and financial understanding.
- Experience supporting bids, tenders or business winning activities.
- Ability to design innovative, data-driven supply chain solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across complex organisations.
Qualifications:
- Degree (or equivalent) in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply or equivalent professional qualification.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
