The Role
As a Senior Project Controller, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of complex defence programmes, including weapon launch and handling systems. You’ll lead the project controls function across the full project lifecycle, ensuring robust planning, cost management and performance reporting that keeps projects on track and delivers value for our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership, influence decision‑making and work at the heart of high‑profile engineering programmes. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, commercial and programme teams, building deep expertise while developing your leadership capability in a highly respected project environment. Your work will directly contribute to national defence capability and support your own professional growth within a world‑class organisation.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and delivering internal and external project control reports and documentation.
- Maintaining integrated master schedules, advising on critical paths and schedule performance.
- Providing cost forecasting, variance analysis and earned value management reporting.
- Coordinating cost risk analysis, change control and performance measurement activities.
- Supporting accurate spend projections, work‑in‑progress and estimate‑at‑complete forecasts.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential Experience For The Senior Project Controller
- Considerable experience applying project management and project control techniques across the full lifecycle.
- Experience working within complex engineering or technical project environments.
- Practical experience using earned value management and schedule or cost risk analysis.
- Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of contracts and cost control.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and champion high performance.
Qualifications
- Project Management qualification such as APM Project Management Qualification or equivalent.
- Project controls or planning practitioner qualification.
- Chartered status is advantageous.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
