The role involves safeguarding Babcock’s information systems and services, influencing national security projects, supporting digital transformation, and ensuring compliance with critical standards. Your work will make a real difference in protecting sensitive data and enabling secure operations across defence, aerospace, and engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate security assurance activities across multiple business units.
- Interpret and apply standards such as JSP 453, NIST SP 800-171/53, ISO 27001, DefStan 05-138, and Cyber Essentials Plus.
- Prepare and maintain security documentation, including SyOps, Information Security Management Plan(s) (ISMP), and Risk Assessments.
- Represent Babcock in assurance engagements with MOD authorities, customers, and auditors.
- Deliver risk-based assessments for IT change, cloud adoption, and digital transformation initiatives.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience in information security assurance or related roles.
- Strong understanding of technical risk assessment methodologies.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with UK Government classification and MoD assurance standards.
- Analytical skills to assess complex systems and identify security implications.
Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Information Security, Computer Science) or equivalent experience.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISMP or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor (preferred).
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) and if necessary Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role. You must also be a British National.
