Role Overview

At Cavendish Nuclear, the Planning Engineer will support the Sizewell C programme, contributing to successful planning, coordination, and delivery of complex, highly regulated engineering projects. This full‑time role is based in Bristol and offers hybrid working patterns.

Day‑to‑day Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6, aligned with governance and planning standards.
  • Analyse progress, forecast data, critical path, and schedule risk to identify trends, threats, and opportunities.
  • Support delivery teams by reviewing contractor and supplier schedules and monthly progress submissions.
  • Produce clear planning reports, dashboards and visuals for project managers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction and commercial teams to deliver joined‑up planning solutions.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience as a Planning Engineer or Project Planner on complex programmes.
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments such as nuclear, energy, infrastructure, rail or defence.
  • Strong hands‑on experience using Primavera P6.
  • Experience reviewing contractor or supplier schedules and progress updates.
  • Experience providing planning insight, analysis and reporting to delivery teams.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management or a related discipline (desirable).
  • Recognised project management or planning qualification (e.g. APM) or equivalent experience.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
