As a Lifting Engineer, you will take ownership of the planning and delivery of complex lifting operations within one of the UK’s most significant nuclear construction projects. This full‑time role is based at our Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset site and involves close collaboration with the MEH Alliance and other multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed lift plans, procedures and coordination studies for complex operations.
  • Select appropriate lifting methods, cranes and equipment to meet safety and project requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards, legislation and site‑specific procedures.
  • Brief lifting teams and supervisors to ensure full understanding of plans and safe systems of work.
  • Identify hazards, resolve constraints and support safe, integrated delivery across site activities.

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience producing lift plans within major construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of lifting operations, rigging and crane planning.
  • Thorough understanding of health, safety and compliance standards in high‑risk environments.
  • Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and site stakeholders.
  • Coordinating activities and prioritising workload within complex project environments.

Qualifications

  • CPCS Appointed Person (A61) Blue Card.
  • NVQ Level 3 in steel erecting or moving loads.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
