As a Digital Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will play a pivotal role in maximising the utility of data to enhance decision making and planning to ensure that submarines and submariners go to sea safely.
Day-to-day, you’ll ensure that BIM and CAD models from various disciplines (architectural, structural, MEP) are properly integrated and checking for clashes or inconsistencies.
Key Responsibilities- Data Management: Organizing, updating, and maintaining project files, models, and design revisions in a centralised system to ensure all stakeholders have access to the latest versions.
- Quality Control and Compliance: Verifying that models adhere to project standards, regulatory requirements, and quality control processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Facilitating communication between design teams, contractors, and clients, ensuring that feedback is incorporated into the models and that project milestones are met.
- Training and Support: Assisting team members with BIM and CAD tools, offering technical support, and ensuring that everyone follows best practices for digital design and documentation.
This role is full time 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home. This role is also adaptable and can be delivered from various locations including Bristol, Leicester and Warrington.
Essential Experience of the Digital Engineer- Awareness of Building Information Modelling (BIM) & Digital Design/Construction Techniques.
- Knowledge of CAD.
- Experience in engineering, construction or architecture.
- A drive to own and shape your career development journey.
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of BIM/Digital Engineering through CPD or equivalent training course in related BIM or Digital fields.
- HNC/HND in Engineering/Construction/Architecture is desirable but not essential.
