Role
As an Aircraft Maintenance Inspector, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring aircraft are maintained to the highest safety and regulatory standards. Working alongside Licensed Aircraft Engineers, you’ll contribute to flight‑line operations, maintenance activities, and engineering assurance, supporting critical aviation capability.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities:
- Carry out scheduled and corrective aircraft maintenance activities
- Support flight‑line operations including aircraft preparation, daily servicing, and turnaround
- Inspect and certify maintenance work in line with regulatory and company standards
- Complete all maintenance documentation accurately in line with procedures and legislation
- Provide technical support and work collaboratively with engineering teams and stakeholders
This is a full‑time role (40 hours per week) based on site at RAF Benson. Shift patterns for this role are 4 x 10‑hour days.
Essential experience:
- Experience working within a military or civilian Part 145 environment
- Strong background in aircraft maintenance and flight‑line operations
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and complete documentation accurately
- Experience supporting or supervising engineering or technician teams
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Recognised aircraft apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
- Full UK driving licence
- Military or civil aircraft engineering experience is desirable
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) / Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
