The role:
As a Licensed Aircraft Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring aircraft are maintained to the highest safety and regulatory standards. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex aviation platforms in a role that directly contributes to operational readiness and mission success, while supporting your own professional growth within a world‑class engineering environment.
Day‑to‑day, you will:
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance in line with regulatory requirements
- Certify work completed in accordance with Part 145 or equivalent approvals
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently to minimise downtime
- Ensure all maintenance activities are recorded accurately and in compliance with standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and performance
This is a full‑time role based on site at RAF Cosford. Shift patterns for this role are 40 hours per week including weekends. Travel to other Babcock and customer sites may be required.
Essential experience of the Licensed Aircraft Engineer:
- Demonstrating experience working in a regulated aviation maintenance environment
- Applying strong knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance procedures
- Holding relevant type ratings or experience across similar aircraft platforms
- Working effectively within a team while maintaining high attention to detail
- Communicating clearly with stakeholders to ensure operational requirements are met
Qualifications for the Licensed Aircraft Engineer:
- EASA Part 66 License (or UK CAA equivalent) – essential
- Type rating(s) on relevant aircraft (desirable)
- Human Factors and EWIS training (desirable)
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
