Supporting safe and reliable military flying operations at Babcock, you can play your part as a Driver and Ground Handler based at Aldergrove Flying Station, supporting the UK Military Air LAFT 2 contract. This is a hands-on, safety-critical role at the heart of daily flying activity, ensuring aircraft, vehicles and ground support operations are delivered safely, compliantly and on time.

The role:

  • Support airside and flight-line operations, working as part of a close-knit operational team.
  • Involved in aircraft ground handling, vehicle operations and routine checks that help maintain operational readiness and customer confidence.

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Carry out aircraft see-in and see-off procedures on the airfield.
  • Drive and operate a range of general and specialist vehicles.
  • Refuel aircraft and undertake oil replenishment tasks.
  • Complete daily checks and minor scheduled maintenance on Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
  • Support the safe movement of personnel, vehicles and equipment across the site.

This is a full-time, onsite role, working 40 hours per week on four 10-hour shifts, usually Monday to Friday, with potential weekend working.

Essential experience:

  • A team-focused approach with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work safely in a regulated or operational environment.
  • Willingness to follow procedures and maintain high safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Full, clean UK driving licence (essential).
  • Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
