The role:
As an Aircraft Technician, you will be supporting advanced aircraft engineering and maintenance operations, from scheduled servicing to Check A inspections, ensuring excellence across all technical services and exceeding both customer and contractual expectations.
Day-to-day, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance on the LAFT aircraft fleet, including aircraft handling.
- Conduct pre-use checks and scheduled maintenance on ground support equipment, ensuring full documentation compliance.
- Carry out general duties as assigned, such as driving, stores support, and housekeeping.
- Complete all maintenance records in line with current legislation and company procedures.
- Provide technical support to other LAFT sites and participate in extended detachments during Easter and Summer camps.
This role is full time working 40 hours per week and is based on site at RAF Aldergrove, Northern Ireland.
Essential experience of the Aircraft Technician:
- Prepare aircraft for daily operations, including see-in, see-off, and fuel/oil replenishment.
- Experienced in military or civilian Part 145 maintenance environments.
- Skilled in aircraft handling within regulated aviation settings.
- Proficient IT skills desirable.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and customer-facing capabilities.
Qualifications for the Aircraft Technician:
- Recognised Aircraft Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
- Proven practical and theoretical engineering competence.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Experience in military or civilian aircraft engineering environments.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) / Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
