The role of the Forklift Driver includes:
- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Supplying raw materials and packaging to Packhouse operatives and removing completed pallets of finished goods ready for despatch
- Completing daily maintenance checks and reporting defects or maintenance issues
- Loading vehicles according to load plan to allow logical unloading of goods
- Storing boxes and trays in an organised and tidy way
- Liaising with Packhouse staff, lorry drivers and managers to ensure tasks are completed efficiently
- Preparation of Rigs in collaboration with the ticket office ensuring accurate tray count
- Loading and unloading Rig Trailers
- Working with the Yard Manager to supervise the Waste Trailer
- General tidying of the yard, keeping exits clear and removing rubbish
- Adhering to health and safety regulations and ensuring proper use of PPE at all times
The ideal Forklift Driver should have a valid forklift licence and be comfortable working in an agricultural processing and packaging environment.
