BA Cityflyer is an airline with a difference. We’re part of the British Airways family and deliver the same customer service in our own unique way. We serve a business and leisure market from London City, a single-terminal airport near Canary Wharf, offering a close-knit team environment.
This role is offered on a part-time, fixed-term contract basis for 9 months at 18.75 hours per week. Salary range: £32,554 to £36,171 plus £3,928 annual shift pay, 50% pro rata for the fixed-term period.
Reporting to the Operations Control Manager, as a Crew Controller you’ll supervise and maintain the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of our crew rosters to support Operations Controllers in delivering our punctuality promise. You’ll coordinate mandatory and company training requirements for all crew, manage daily roster administration, organise crew travel and accommodation, and conduct ongoing legality checks to ensure compliance with the Company flight time limitations scheme.
The Operations Control Centre operates 24/7, and this role follows a 28-day rolling 12-hour day-shift pattern, including days and nights. This role supports BA Cityflyer and BA Euroflyer flying programmes from our hubs at London City and London Gatwick to European destinations.
What You’ll Do:
- Monitor and manage the Company’s day-to-day crew operation for the current published flying programme while on shift, ensuring all rostered duties comply with mandatory constraints and industrial agreements.
- Provide efficient coordination of all mandatory and company training requirements for Flight Deck and Cabin Crew.
- Manage daily roster administration including initial handover, ensuring crew positioning flights, HOTAC, taxi, and car hire are booked, and that crews are informed to minimise delays while staying within legal and company restrictions.
- Maximise the potential for on-time departures.
- Ensure the safe, legal, efficient, and effective operation of company aircraft.
- Compile weekly and monthly legality reports to ensure the company operates within legal guidelines for both companies and in line with the EASA FTL Scheme.

Your Experience:
We are looking for candidates who are experienced or interested in working in an operational control or crewing environment. You’ll enjoy the excitement of the operation and want to work with our Operations Teams in responding to changes in our operating plan.
Knowledge of crew control and EASA FTL, computer literacy and demonstrated use of Crew Scheduling software, awareness of crew fatigue and Circadian Rhythm factors, knowledge of flight.
