About us
B4B Payments is part of the Banking Circle Group, a 1,000+ person ecosystem owned by the EQT investment organisation, which also includes Banking Circle (global payments, accounts, liquidity, and FX for financial institutions and regulated businesses), and YOULEND (revenue-based financing).
B4B Payments is an embedded and direct payment services provider offering card issuing and BIN sponsorship, and accounts, payments and FX to businesses, with the tools, APIs and infrastructure to allow clients and partners to build cutting-edge financial services. The B4B Payments leadership team has extensive payments experience, and is committed to driving continued growth and scale as we expand internationally, with a presence in the UK, Europe and US.
We operate as an independent affiliate of Banking Circle, and while we are separate companies, we work closely together to deliver a market-competitive, and continually evolving product offering that augments established EMI licensed cards capabilities from B4B Payments with world-class payments, accounts and FX capabilities from Banking Circle. We are a global and diverse team, with our headquarters in London (UK), and offices in Newcastle (UK), Vilnius (Lithuania) and Boston (US).
About the role
This is not a domain specific PM role β itβs a horizontal, platform-level role. You will own the shared infrastructure, APIs, integrations, data layer, and developer experience that all domain areas build on (e.g. Cards, Payments, CX). Your mission is to make the platform scalable, well-documented, and API-first β enabling evolution of a modern, composable financial services platform that clients and partners can integrate into their existing workflows and systems.
You will work out of our London office, closely with product, engineering, and tech leads across all domains. You will be the single-threaded owner for platform-level capabilities and the connective tissue between domain PMs (Cards / Payments, CX, Operations) and engineering.
A note on scope: This role owns the infrastructure layer powering the product. Our Customer Experience (CX) PM owns the experience layer β what users see and how journeys flow. In practice: you work with engineering on UI portal architecture, how APIs are designed, and how integrations work; the CX PM decides how the UI looks, how navigation flows, and how the design system works. Where capabilities span both layers (e.g. notifications, reporting UIs, portal consolidation), you own the backend infrastructure and the CX PM owns the user-facing experience. You will collaborate closely to ensure the platform enables great user experiences.
We are modernising our platform, expanding internationally, and scaling the product organisation. This role suits someone who enjoys building from the ground up, is happy to roll up their sleeves on tasks big and small, and gets energy from seeing tangible progress. You should be comfortable using AI tooling to accelerate research, ideation, prototyping, and documentation.
In the role you will:
- Own the API-first strategy and roadmap β drive the evolution of a modern API-first architecture. Define API coverage priorities, set design and documentation standards, and ensure new features ship API-first with UI as a consumer.
- Own platform infrastructure and shared services β own the technical architecture for horizontal capabilities: authentication, user management, existing portal consolidation, notifications, reporting infrastructure, and shared data models. Collaborate with the CX PM who owns the user experience layer.
- Own integrations and partner connectivity β own the integrations strategy connecting B4B into clientsβ existing technology ecosystems: ERP/accounting integrations (Microsoft, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.), travel management platform connectivity, and embedded finance / white-label capabilities for BaaS partners.
- Drive the data and reporting layer β own the data model and reporting requirements to reduce ad-hoc engineering effort, and lay the groundwork for the evolution of client-facing analytics.
- Enable developer and partner experience β own the external developer experience: API documentation, sandbox/testing environments, partner onboarding flows, and developer portal. Make it easy for BaaS clients and partners to integrate, test, and go live.
- Drive prioritised development and delivery β work directly with tech leads and engineers to prioritise and sequence platform work. Manage cross-domain dependencies, write epics and acceptance criteria, and ensure platform deliverables unblock domain roadmaps.
- Manage stakeholders and alignment β align domain PMs, engineering leads, and leadership on platform priorities. Be the connective tissue that prevents silos from creating duplicate or conflicting work.
- Leverage AI to accelerate β use AI / LLM tools for research, API design validation, rapid prototyping, and documentation generation.
What you will need:
- 3-5+ years in a Product role, with experience owning platform, infrastructure, or developer-facing products β ideally in fintech, payments, or BaaS.
- Experience in scale-up or high-growth environments β youβve built from the ground up, not just inherited mature products. Youβre comfortable rolling up your sleeves, moving fast, and making pragmatic trade-offs to ship.
- Experience building tech products at the heart of the action β working directly with engineers, clients, internal stakeholders, and external third parties across the full development lifecycle.
- Strong API and technical fluency β you can read API specs, understand data modelling, and hold your own in technical design discussions. You donβt need to write production code, but you need to understand how systems fit together.
- Experience with platform or infrastructure product management β you understand building for internal consumers (other PMs, engineers, partners) and how to prioritise foundational work that unlocks everything else.
- Financial services or payments domain exposure β you should understand the basics of how money moves (accounts, payments, cards, FX) and the regulatory context (preferred but not essential).
- Experience with developer experience and documentation β youβve owned or contributed to API documentation, developer portals, sandbox environments, or partner onboarding.
- Experience with integrations and partner connectivity β youβve built or managed integrations with third-party systems (ERP/accounting, HRIS, or enterprise software). You understand webhooks, event-driven architecture, and cross-system data synchronisation.
- Experience working in an agile / scrum environment with a strong written culture β PRDs, API specifications, strategy docs, and clear product documentation.
- Comfortable with AI tooling β you use AI / LLM tools (Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, Cursor, etc.) as part of your workflow for research, prototyping, and documentation.
- English fluency for both speaking and writing, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to have:
- Experience with platform modernisation
- Experience with BaaS, embedded finance, or BIN sponsorship models
- Experience with data warehousing, ETL pipelines, or BI/analytics product management
- Experience building or managing ERP/accounting integrations
- Familiarity with the spend management and corporate card platform landscape (e.g. Ramp, Brex, Pleo, Navan)
- Experience working in an EMI or regulated financial services environment
The interview process:
- Internal Recruiter call
- Initial call with one of our Product team members
- Technical and platform assessment call with the CPO and CTO
- Cultural fit assessment with a Product team member and engineering tech lead
What we offer:
- 25 days annual leave
- Annual wellness day off
- Access to retail & other discounts
- Vitality health care plan
- Learning & development support
- Ride-to-work scheme
- Employee assistance programme
- Regular socials and relaxed working environment
