Position Overview:

B4B UK is looking for a DMLRO to join its growing Compliance team. This role will be working alongside the MLRO in a small second-line compliance. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the effective mitigation of financial crime risks through the maintenance of adequate systems and controls.

As the Deputy MLRO, you will provide strategic support to the MLRO and be the technical authority for Financial Crime within the Second Line of Defence. You will ensure that B4B Payments remains fully compliant with the UK regulatory landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary delegate for the MLRO in all internal and external forums.
  • Translate evolving UK regulations into actionable AML/CTF and Sanctions policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the business operates within defined risk parameters while supporting sustainable commercial growth.
  • Serve as the final escalation point for high-risk onboarding (EDD), PEPs, and complex corporate structures (UBO identification).
  • Support the MLRO in overseeing the internal SAR filing process and ensure that external disclosures to the NCA/relevant FIUs are timely and of high quality.
  • Act as a key point of contact for Law Enforcement (Production Orders), Regulators (FCA/Central Banks), and our ecosystem of Partner Banks.
  • Assess the robustness of automated screening and monitoring rules, ensuring they are calibrated to B4B’s specific UK risk appetite.

Requirements

  • You are an expert in AML/CTF compliance and may be currently working or have worked within the area of financial crime compliance, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have demonstrable experience designing and challenging processes, ideally across multiple products.
  • You have experience improving current practices and processes and can apply different compliance strategies to develop compliance frameworks.
  • You are an effective communicator in both your writing and speaking. You can convey complex ideas effectively to both internal and external audiences.
  • You have worked in a regulated business under an EMI or a banking licence.
