About the NPD Technologist job
The purpose of your role will be to support the NPD Manager with the development and innovation of products, liaising with all departments to ensure products and services are supplied within agreed specifications whilst keeping up to date with key development trends within the food industry as well as developing and maintaining excellent relationships with customers, external contacts, and colleagues.
Key tasks:
- Work with the Senior Technologist to turn ideas into new products.
- Test new ingredients and materials with suppliers to meet project needs.
- Keep up with trends and bring new ideas into development.
- Help prepare samples and documents for internal teams and customers.
- Make sure all products are tested properly and meet quality, safety, and customer standards.
- Support timelines to ensure products move smoothly into production.
- Always follow HACCP guidelines and maintain product records accurate, organised, and ready for audits, with clear traceability.
- Build good working relationships with teams, customers, and suppliers.
- Communicate clearly, help solve problems, share feedback, and present products in a clear and engaging way.
About You
The successful candidate shall have a food science degree or relevant subject. Ideally with some experience in new product development and/or process experience. A knowledge of food safety protocols and HACCP procedures would be advantageous.

The NPD Technologist job is paying up to £28,000 to £30,000 dependent on experience. The working hours are Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4:30pm and Friday 07:30am to 3:00pm.
