Technical Manager - Hybrid
This role is working for an international chilled food business which supplies specialty, high-quality products to food manufacturers, food service and retail customers.
About the Technical Manager job
The purpose of your role will be to support the Senior Technical Manager with the daily running of the UK technical team, staying in touch with both customer and supplier technical teams, and promoting a strong food safety culture. You\'ll also make sure all products meet safety, legal, quality, and authenticity standards.
Key tasks
- Work with suppliers to check and approve products, gather the right info, manage product files, and help get everything ready for customers. Plan and go on visits and audits to supplier sites.
- Answer questions from customers and suppliers about packaging, labels, safety rules, and product details. Write product specifications, check packaging designs, and deal with complaints and sample testing.
- Support the technical team, help with training, plan who’s doing what, and keep things running smoothly. Make sure food safety systems and documents are up to date.
- Organise and take part in food safety checks and customer visits, help suppliers meet standards, manage audits, and work on projects like checking how products travel through the supply chain.
About You
- The successful candidate shall have a degree in food science, technology, product development, nutrition, or similar – or equivalent hands-on experience and training in the field.
- Candidates must be happy to travel into Europe 1-2 times a month.

The Technical Managerjob (ref:8924) is payingc. £50,000 per annumaccording to your experience. This is a hybrid role with 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home.
The site is in Devon and is commutable from Exeter, Honiton, Tiverton, Crediton, Newton Abbot, Exmouth, Torquay and surrounding areas.
The package includes Hybrid working, Discretional Annual Bonus scheme up to 15% of salary (business performance related), Pension scheme, 25 days holiday (after 5 years 1 additional day per year up to 30 days), 1 day volunteering per year, Additional day off given for birthday, Cycle to Work Scheme.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, standard office hours.
