About the Specification Technologist job

Reporting to the Food Safety & QA Manager the purpose of your role will be to create and manage product specifications, support process improvements and ensure all regulations are always met. You will work with suppliers, customers and internal teams to consistently keep products safe and high quality.

Key tasks:

  • Help keep customer, internal and supplier specifications up to date by carrying out regular reviews and audits, as well as managing supplier approval documents.
  • Take part in customer, third‑party, internal and GMP audits as required.
  • Prepare documents for new products and act as a helpful point of contact for customers and suppliers, and ensure all required information is completed through customer portals.
  • Review all new product labels and any updates to make sure they meet labelling and nutritional standards, while working closely with the Market Development Team on product development.
  • Support supplier approval, assessments and performance reviews, while staying familiar with customer codes of practice and assisting with temporary specifications when needed.

About You

The successful candidate shall have experience working as a Specification Technologist or within a Technical Admin role. You shall have strong knowledge of retailer specifications, online systems and retailer portals. A degree in food science, nutrition, or another related discipline would be advantageous. You will be organised, diligent and able to manage detailed technical information with accuracy and consistency. Access to your own transport due to limited public transport to the site.
