About the Assistant Production Manager job
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Production Manager to join a leading artisan wholesale bakery. This leadership role reports to the Head Baker and sits at the heart of daily baking operations and bakery product development. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, with a strong focus on productivity metrics and effective cost control.
- Lead a team of bakers in bread production, managing day-to-day operations and supporting product development.
- Oversee shift management in a 24/7 environment, ensuring smooth handovers and consistent performance.
- Drive operational excellence through a strong understanding of productivity metrics and cost control.
- Produce accurate weekly reports on key production metrics and represent the business at key meetings with customers and stakeholders.
- Motivate, coach and develop the bakery production team.
About You
The successful candidate will have proven experience in bread production within a craft or wholesale bakery (as a baker).
