The purpose of your role will be to oversee the production line and packing team to ensure daily targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards. The role includes coordinating daily operations, supporting and training staff, monitoring productivity and quality, and escalating issues when needed.

Key tasks:
  • Prepare the production line for each shift by checking orders and production plans, confirm staff attendance, assign tasks and communicate daily targets to ensure smooth operations throughout the shift.
  • Monitor the production process to ensure productivity and quality standards are met, identifying and reporting any operational, waste or quality issues, and complete supportive paperwork.
  • Lead and support the packing team through training, guidance and clear communication, while monitoring productivity, managing break schedules and escalating any attendance, conduct or performance concerns.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, hygiene and cleanliness by ensuring PPE is used correctly, work areas are kept clean and safe and oversee end‑of‑shift cleaning and line close‑down.

The successful candidate shall have experience working in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably food or fresh produce, with previous experience supporting or leading a production team. Food Safety Level 3 certification and other relevant technical qualifications such as HACCP or Food Technology would also be an advantage.

The Production Line Leader job (ref:9054) is paying £15,600 per annum according to your experience. The site is in Croydon, Greater London and is commutable from areas of South London, Kent and Surrey. The working hours are Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights. This is a 20‑hour working week.
